How to use the AI Chat

Overview & Access

The VitalLoop AI Chat is a smart assistant designed to help you analyze, summarize, and understand your health data. You can access it from any page on the VitalLoop Portal.

[!NOTE] AI Chat is a premium feature gated by the aiChat entitlement. Please ensure your account has a subscription that includes this benefit.

To launch the AI Chat:

1. Click the "Ask AI" button, which can be found in the main navigation bar or footer of your dashboard on app.getvitalloop.com.
2. The chat interface is fully responsive:
   • On desktop, it opens as a convenient right-rail overlay panel so you can browse your data side-by-side.
   • On mobile, it adjusts to a bottom sheet layout for optimal single-handed use.
3. On first launch, you will be prompted with a Data Privacy Consent Dialog. You must review and agree to these privacy terms before you can begin chatting.

Interacting with the AI

• Asking Questions: Simply type your query into the input box. To submit your question, press the Enter key or click the send button. If you want to insert a new line without sending, press Shift + Enter.
• Attaching Page Context: You can attach a page context chip to your question. This gives the AI access to the specific chart or page data you are currently viewing for more personalized insights.
• Live Voice Chat: Want to speak instead? Click the microphone button to initiate a live voice chat. The app will perform a quick permission check to access your microphone.
• Copying Responses: If you need to save or share a response, hover over the message bubble and click the markdown copy icon to copy the raw text to your clipboard.
